Material to make 3d surfaces
I am looking for a material which would look like perspex sheet but could be shaped into curved surfaces e.g. like the petals of a flower. It would need to be pliable for working but then set so that it would be solid at room temperature.
This might be a thermosetting plastic, but would have to be usable in a home environment. Has anyone got any ideas or can give me a list of suppliers ? Cheers |

Re: Material to make 3d surfaces
Welcome to the Forum,
I have also been looking for something like you describe in your post. Check out this thread from this past summer: http://www.sculpture.net/community/s...tics+suppliers At the end, I posted a link to a pretty comprehensive list of plastics suppliers that I found. Good luck, and please share any progress with us! |

Re: Material to make 3d surfaces
hi,
here is a material that is a thermoplastic sheet that will soften in hot water. It can be shaped while hot, then will become a rigid plastic again at room temperature. Hope this helps. http://www.pinkhouse.com/Thermoplas.html |
