Re: HiI am new here

Welcome Louise
I find this forum fantastic - a broad range of topics, really useful resources, some entrenched ideas challenged and plenty of helpful advice. Enjoy!
I see that you're interested in using fabric - I feel drawn to fabric as well - particularly old clothes. How do you use fabric in your work?
James

Re: HiI am new here

Hi james ,thankyou for welcoming me to the site .

I use old clothing and stiffen with a fabric stiffener ,I do a chicken wire frame and then use old sheets to wrap around and then drap old clothing over
you can look up powertex or paverpol and they sell the stiffener ,
I do mostly animals
have done some research on the stiffener and you can just use bondcrete and if putting your sculpture outside you can give it a clear lacquer , or i have found that fiberglass over the top is good too

well good luck and if you want to ask me any thing feel free
louise

Re: HiI am new here

Hi,
I am also new to fabric sculpture. I have used paverpol .

I have also used Selleys PVA Aquadhere exterior which seems very similar.

For colour I add artist acrylic paint ,

Rod.

Welcome to the forum, Weasycraft. Your part of the world seems very active in many forms of sculpture. Thanks for all the good tips.
