Foundry Help

Hi,

I have decided that I will be purchasing some foundry equipment this week but before I do so I wanted to run a couple of questions by you guys please provide any suggestions as well.

Once set up I will be casting small scale sculpture 6-9 inches high and perhaps jewellery.

1st item burn out oven Satelite automatic 12X12X 9inches high, since I will be using shellspen ceramic investment I will use a torch to dewax and then set the piece sideways to fire the ceramic shell before casting....would this work?

1495.00.

Graphicarbo melter 3kilo capacity simlar to Kerr but a lot cheaper 1,100.00. This melter is for gold is 3 kilos of gold different then 3 kilos in bronze if so by how much ??

All prices and items are Canadian dollars

I will wait on the vaccuum investor /cast machine ...

Any help or aadvice would help Thanks again

Re: Foundry Help

bronze and gold have a different specific gravity (mass per unit of volume). Here's a website with a chart: http://www.csgnetwork.com/specificgravmettable.html
