Grad. Schools?

Hey everyone

I am looking into Graduate schools for my wife and I. I will be applying for my MFA in Sculpture and my wife will apply for a MA in Art History. I was hoping for some suggestions on what schools are good, great or just average. I currently live in Denver, Co., but I want to get out of my region for a new perspective.

Thanks Jeff Weihing

Hi Jeff,

I am in the same search right now. I was just in the Bay Area last week for the purposes of checking out grad schools. I had a look at San Francisco Art Institute's campus and grad facilities.

The grad facilites are interesting because they are tucked away from the city in an industrial district just outside the city. Occupying the entire second floor of a wharehouse (~50,000 sq ft + ) and each grad student has access to fairly large studios in the building, 24/7 I believe.

Another Bay Area school that I have heard highly about is the California College of Art. Just this past semester both SFAI and CCA forged a partnership to combine their resources. I'll see if I can dig up the e-mail I was sent about this and post it to the board.

or

(They were known as California College of Arts and Crafts but dropped 'crafts' from their name)

Hope this is helpful..!

Yea..every little bit helps.. I actually have a friend that is currently in the MFA program at sfai. She loves the college but hates the cost of living.

Thanks Jeff
