Barry Pepper protrait

Here is a protrait I am working on for a friend. It is intended as a replacement head for an action figure (thus the lack of expression and blank eyes)

He is 1/6 scale and sculpted in a 3sixty wax.

Re: Barry Pepper protrait

Hey there Pzak, very nice likeness of Mr. Pepper. Action figure? I guess it's a self made action figure, or is it a Saving Private Ryan action figure?

Nice Job

Alfred

Re: Barry Pepper protrait

Thanks Alfred.

Actually, it is a replacement head for an army action figure (GI Joe size). I guess there is a market for likenesses of actors in movies. It was a good exercise in my quest to capture likenesses and build a portfolio for freelance opportunities.

Plus, it gave me a chance to try this new modeling wax. When heated, it works like a plastiline clay and at room temp, it is a ridged wax that can hold a lot of detail. You don't need an armature for smaller scale pieces, which is a nice feature.

I'm not familiar with the subject, but the head on your website is very convincingly human, and at that scale it's quite an achievement.

Your others illustrated are also of excellent quality.

Good 3d modelling - a genuine skill in itself. Personally I'd like to see you use these skills to do something for the art gallery. Hyper-real figures can be SO disturbing!
