El Beso, Love Park, Lima, Peru

While S Korea has a sex park, Peru has a love park. See the centerpiece sculpture of this park below.

Love Park, Lima, Peru

Love Park is located on the cliffs of Chorrillos overlooking the Pacific Ocean. It's surrounded by walls of romantic quotes scripted in mosaic tiles and a monumental statue of two lovers embracing each other in the center of the park. ...

The major sculpture in the park is of "El Beso", a couple engaged in a passionate kiss. It was sculpted by Victor Delfin.

The sculpture celebrates the lovers who gather to catch the sunset on the waters of the Pacific Ocean. It is said that the locals compete for the longest kiss under this statue. ...

El Beso strikes me as very Incan in style, modernized, of course, and apparently in material as well. It's possibly concrete, but certainly resembles a heavy-walled fired clay. Wonder just what the material is?
