This 8' steel work, on 3' concrete base, was commissioned for Park Center Plaza in San Jose, CA. It is abstracted from shapes of eroded castles The steel surface is actively ground and incised and covered with translucent red lacquer which produces a rich glimmer as sun and viewer move. It adds a warm welcoming quality to its concrete architectural surround and is titled "Salute"
