"Crossroads"

Drawing upon the rich history of Pleasanton, CA, I chose to juxtapose raw weathered Corten against finished and painted steel to symbolize the 'Crossroads' between Pleasanton's past and its future. My intention was to avoid a literal interpretation of history, but rather to abstract a "historical crossroads" feeling by incorporating shapes, colors, and material that leaves one with nostalgia for Pleasanton's Ohlone Indian and Gold Rush past while at the same time establishing a bold and hopeful feeling for Pleasanton's promising future.

Materials: Mild and Corten Steel, Tnemic Paint

Size: 30' x 16' x 13'

Location: Charles Schwab Corporate Office Park, Pleasanton, CA
