This is part of a series I call my lipworks. The imagery of human lips can evoke an emotional link with the themes explored in each work. Sometime the themes are playful and humorous, sometimes darkly foreboding, but always involving a degree of sensuality.
This particular work lightly inquires about primal urges and how they are defined, where the unconscious fits into the scheme of our modern lives. The title of this piece could be loosely translated as "before the time of thought; some remains of . . ."
