I am an engineering student working on a project in which we are going to build a statue which has shape memory properties. This means that at a certain temperature the alloy changes its microstructural form and properties and it can be trained to remember shapes at the two temperature ranges, and can therefore "move" with temperature fluctuation. The material we are using is nitinol, which is a nickel/titanium alloy. Does anyone have any experience working with this kind of material or know of anyone who does? If so, I would greatly appreciate any information you could provide so I could contact someone who can provide insight with working with this material. My e-mail address is ms_conner@mse.eng.ohio-state.edu

I recently acquired a 22" driftwood carving by Fritz Alpanalp called woman's head. Does anyone know about the artist and where I might find more information about him. Thank you, Mike H.
