I am interested in knowing more about Roy Lichtenstein's 31' steel scupture entitled "Modern Head." I have seen reference to this work (31' steel of the same design) in at least 4 locations: 1). Battery Park, NY (the World Trade Center) 2). Jerusalem, Israel 3). Nassau County Museum, NY 4). Nagano Prefecture, Japan Does anyone on this forum know about Lichtenstein's "Modern Head" and how many works of the same design there are in total? Also, if there is published material about "Modern Head," I would appreciate any information (title, cost, etc) so I can order materials. I live in Japan and do not have easy access to a large reference library. Thank you. David Carlson e-mail: carlson@po.mdu.ac.jp Associate Professor MDU Shiojiri, Japan

We are investigating the possibility of building a small foundry for the purpose of casting metals, in a remote rural location. The foundry would be located in an old machine shop, on private property. I would appreciate any tips or information regarding logistics, legal issues, and certainly technical specifications or plans. We currently have a fully functional studio space which includes a metals fab area, ceramics, wood working, and general shop, to support various aspects of mold making and finish work. I have had some foundry experience with bronze and iron casting, but have never attempted to build a crucible, much less a whole foundry.
