I have no general comment to add on to what I wrote on this topic quite sometime ago.
What I want to add is about the acclaimed English sculptor Anthony Gormley, winner of the 1994 Turner Prize, and creator of 'The Angel of the North' and 'Another Place'. My apology if this has already been mentioned here. I quote a webpage
on him, "Almost all of his work takes the human body as its subject, with his own body used in many works as the basis for metal casts." and more clearly, "many of his works are based on moulds taken from his own body".
